Built in 1929, the Granada Theatre has stood at the heart of Alpine’s downtown for nearly a century, evolving from a grand movie palace into a vibrant live‐event venue. In its early decades the theatre was the region’s premier entertainment house. Screening films, hosting vaudeville acts and community gatherings, and even serving as the backdrop for a major wartime bond drive in 1943 that brought Hollywood stars to town.
Today, the Granada Theatre stands as a cherished historic venue and cultural centerpiece of the Big Bend region—welcoming live music, weddings, movies, and community celebrations within its beautifully preserved walls. Under new stewardship, this iconic space has reopened its doors for both private and public events, once again bringing people together through concerts, performing arts, speaking engagements, and special occasions that honor its legacy of connection and creativity.
